Owner of Evergreen Exteriors and SpringGreen Clinton Township, MI
In February 2001 Keith Ives launched Evergreen Exteriors, based in Clinton Township, Michigan, offering landscape, lawn maintenance, lawn care, snow removal, and landscape design services. The company was successful, but Ives knew it could do even more with the right resources. That’s what led him to investigate into SpringGreen. As he learned more about the company and opportunities it brought, he began thinking about adding a franchise to diversify and grow his existing business.
Dan Hillenbrand got his start in the industry while he was in the Army, working weekends with someone who taught him the ins and outs of lawn maintenance. He worked at a few different small lawn maintenance companies, as well as a Colorado-based Scott’s Lawn Service franchise. When TruGreen purchased Scott’s in late 2016, Hillenbrand started to rethink his future with the company. That led to a conversation with SpringGreen.
Owner of TrimWorks and SpringGreen Springfield, MO
Like many others, Jon Thurman got his start in the green industry mowing lawns as a teenager. He originally began his career in lawn care to help him pay for college but found more success than he anticipated within the business. By his early 20s, however, he was tired of mowing. He wanted to find work that was year-round, and irrigation fit the bill.
Owner of Enviroscapes of Georgia and SpringGreen Loganville, GA
In 2015, Roman participated in a roundtable discussion at GIE+EXPO in Louisville, where a business owner shared a story of getting into lawn care via a franchise. The owner stated that lawn care had quickly become the company’s profit center, which piqued Roman’s interest. “From that conversation, I went back to the Expo center, and I began to investigate franchise opportunities in metro Atlanta,” he recalled. That search led him to SpringGreen.
